RC51 info

Hello boys/girls if there are any on here ladies/gentleman

Im new to here but i have been reading this forrum for some time now... and just want to say that it looks like a great place with some great people and knowledge, keep it up.

Im new to this RC51 thing and have few more questions as im looking at getting one and after doing some research and reading they look like a good machine to ride.

After some contreversial issues and changes i have my mind set on SP2 05 but im just wondering if there are any common problems that RC51 have? and whats the highest km's can you have on the bike before you have to do any majour work or majour problems that will start coming up?

Cheers
Stasik

From a US persepctive:
Some '01s had a tank problem (the rest don't)
All years are geared stupid high
Check rc51.org for good mods and how to's
Not sure if the Aussie version has the double rev limiter (think it was the states only) if it does not a big deal on the road but free HP on the track.

The bike was still unchanged in 07 in the countries it sold, and one of the most respected cycle magazines in the world called it "the best sportbike Honda still makes".

If that is not enough, for a bike Honda doesn't care to promote any more, what is?

The gearing thing is not as much of a problem as stated. With some good mods, and track use in fast tracks it is right! In street use it is less abrupt.
But cafe sprinters seem to like the 15/41 instead of the 16/40

I'm changing back tomorrow. The sweet part of this power is to make it work to rev, not instant rev-up to next gear. My 2c on what you may like or not.

Workhorse. Think about it as a sports truck.

Re: RC51 info

Thats great info, thanks guys... i have tried with oc51.org but you have to pay for the membership, which is fine with me but they are not accepting any more $$$ WTF

So yea what about the Km's part? what are the most acceptable km can you have before you have to do amy majour repairs to the bike....? I have see few 00 or 01 sp1 with exess of 30K on the clock and just wondering if thats the reason why they are selling them.
