| Keep the 69 Mach or sell it and fill my stable with Bikes? I find myself in a quandry. I have a beautiful 1969 mach 1 restomod worth about $40k USD, but dont drive it out of fear of ruining it. I have been thinking of selling it and buying an RC30 and RC45 to complete my RC collection. I guess I figure that I will never have a garage full of cars, but I could have a garage full of Motorcycles.
What do you think my biking bretheren?

| Re: Keep the 69 Mach or sell it and fill my stable with Bikes? If it's a Cleveland, I'd get rid of it if you found someone foolish enough to put down that kind of cash. If it's a true CJ, you might get lucky. A 7 SO and I'd keep it and be burring with it But it ain't.
Dude, seriously 40K? I'm pissed!
I had a 69 w/ a true 428CJ Q code. Not R

| Re: Keep the 69 Mach or sell it and fill my stable with Bikes? not a cleveland, it is a windsor (MUCH BETTER ENGINE). by the way "that kind of Cash" is being put down on these all the time for a car in this condition.

We will dissagree on that Worthless, I mean Windser motor.
But I wouldn't keep it if I wasn't driving it.

But I wouldn't keep it if I wasn't driving it. | IF you are disagreeing on engine comparing a Windsor to the Cobrajet, then we agree, but Cleveland to a Windsor? They didnt offer it in the 69 so changing it would mean altering the car way off of original. I was careful not to change anything that couldnt go back to original. I did change the tranny to an AOD, but kept the worthless FMX for originality.

| Re: Keep the 69 Mach or sell it and fill my stable with Bikes? Very tough Choice, I would love to have all three, but even if I decide to sell the car, I have to find the other two bikes....I must sound like such a tosser because I do win either way. I do appreciate the input though.

| Re: Keep the 69 Mach or sell it and fill my stable with Bikes? If you cant enjoy it sell it and get something you can enjoy. A car shouldnt sit and rot away (says the guy with a Jaguar XKR and Z28 Nitrous motor drag car sittn in the garage) Sell the car, put 10 grand in the bank and use the other 30 to enjoy life. Get a bike you will ride, go kart racing, get into paintball etc. |

| Re: Keep the 69 Mach or sell it and fill my stable with Bikes? Sell the car if you're not driving it, you said its a restored car, I'm assuming non original, non numbers matching. I have a restored 71 Camaro in probably a similar condition, I drive the hell out of it in the summer. Its a good looker, worth a few bucks, fast as hell, but by no means a REAL collector car. I'm thinking about turning it into a Motion clone. Cars like we have are meant to be driven.....unless you have somethign more like what we don't drive. A 100% original, numbers matching, completely documented, no rust, not faded, 1 owner (my father) 70 Charger R/T 440 6 pack, with pistol grip shifter, Dana rear, etc etc. in Light Blue Metallic with a WHITE vinyl top. Less than 600 of 70 charger RT's were made with that engine/color combo, and even fewer that were fully loaded inside and with the go fast goodies.
SO long story short, IMHO....if its not completely orig, or numbers matching, either don't be afraid to drive it or sell it and get something else you might enjoy. |

| Re: Keep the 69 Mach or sell it and fill my stable with Bikes? Keep it. $40k isn't enough to buy both a 30 and a 45. I know someone that turned down $30k for an RC30. |

| Re: Keep the 69 Mach or sell it and fill my stable with Bikes? I'm in a similiar situation. Just sold my track car (Porsche 944 turbo) and selling my street car 911 turbo. Gonna track a 600cc bike and got a 1000rr for street. After burning up tires for a few years I've learned it's cheaper to replace 2 tires than 4. I can take the leftover change and have a nice vacation too. Hawaii is calling. |
