HELP!!

Ok, so I'm rebuilding a 2001 RC51 that was layed down. Its been sitting up for about 6 or 7 months, and I cant get it started! Being that I'm not firmiliar with motorcycle repair, is there anything obvious that I might be missing? The motor turns over it just wont fire up. Is there any fuses I should check, or something that needs to be reset? To eliminate a few things, it is in neutral and the kill switch is off. Thanks for all your help!

The fuse for the headlights also controles the fuel pump and if your Tip over sensor is unhooked the bike won't start either.

Re: HELP!!

Where is this tip over sensor? I found what appears to be the fuse box. It houses about 6 fuses. None of them look bad but I might just replace them anyway to see if that helps.

Always test fuses with a test light as they can look good and still be bad. Turn on the key and test each side of each fuse. The TIP sensor is under the tail section above the swingarm. It's a little black box with a round top and flat bottom and sides and has an arrow pointing up.

I'll make you a deal.
I won't tell anyone if they can get a better price on something you sell, if you don't tell people to steel from another business. O.K.?

I'm not the one that is hosting it online for free and $100.00 is way too much to pay for a manual, I'm just trying to help the guy out not rip him off for $100.00

Re: HELP!!

I had the same problem with my rc51 when I laid it down. If it's a right side slide like mine was, make sure you didn't lose any fluids. I lost some out of the clutch cover. I changed the gasket, got a new cover, did an oil change and she fired right up. The manual shows you how to check your tilt sensor; basically you unscrew it from it's mount, tilt it greater than 60 degrees, and try to start your bike. If she doesn't turn when the sensor's tilted but does when the sensor's in upright/neutral, you're sensor's working. Good luck on getting her running!
By the way, enough on-line research will land you a manual for whatever you want to pay for it, anywhere from free to $100. It just depends on how diligently you search for what you're looking for. I found one on Ebay for less than $50, but you could find one for free if you search hard enough. You can't steal something that's being posted for free. No offense intended, just stating the obvious. Anyway, hope you get your bike running, Chum. Again, good luck to you!

The tip over sensor would be my first guess.
