Seafoam Forum I frequent for my truck, there was a recent thread about seafoam and the benefits of using it in motors. I then proceeded to check out their website, and was curious if anyone here has tried seafoam on their bike and what your opinions are on it??

Re: Seafoam Greatest stuff in the world!!!! My fuel system was gunked up, and I was having a problem with keeping it running, so as a real ditch effort before i started really tearing the bike apart I ran some seafoam in the tank, and straight down the carbs, smoked like hell for like 5 minutes (kinda freaked me out but my buddy told me it was normal) and kept going like a champ. I put some fuel system additive to my next tank of gas and haven't looked back.

Re: Seafoam I ran it through my old CB125 and ATC125M that were both sitting in a barn for years. After Seafoam and a tank of gas, they both actually stayed running! I don't think it is an alternative to re-building a gunky carb, but it sure gets one to the point that it runs...great stuff!

Re: Seafoam Does the fuel tank need to be at a specific fullness to use this properly? Does it take the whole can?

Re: Seafoam I put about 1/3 can in the carbs to get her running, then dumped another 1/3 in the tank (had just under 2 gallons in the tank) and let it run. filled up, dumped the rest in. ran it, rode it for a little bit. Then after that tank was almost dry I put the carb/fuel system cleaner in the next full tank. Like Smokngun said, its not a substitute for a full on rebuild if your carbs are that bad, but it'll sure clean the hell out of them if they're a lil gunked up. The stuff is cheap, I figure its worth dropping it in before pulling off the carbs etc and going nuts trying to troubleshoot.

Re: Seafoam Great stuff. Had a problematic 1982 GPz750. Used the product at the behest of some antique Japanese bike restorers. Used it as a strict additive, one half can to 4 gallons of gas and ran two tanks through the bike. Born again! The little GPz just purrs along now. I use it in all my bikes.......carbs or fuel injected.
