new guy here

hey all. just bought an 06 RC51 w/1116mi on it.
I have never had the itch for nice weather more in my life!

I've been riding for nearly 10 years but this is my first (running) bike that I have owned. The bike came with sato low mounts and banzai canisters. So far I've done the flapper mod, powdercoated the stock rearsets, passenger pegs, windshield stay, and a couple other misc items satin black, Renthal diamond grips, added an 03 600rr hugger, and put one of those $100 undertails on (which looks to be a mistake. kind of poorly made but that's what i get)

now just impatiently waiting for riding season which looks to be impossibly far off, here in MA

i shall post pics of it soon.

-Kurt

Welcome to the site, let me know if you need help with your bike I make a lot of parts for the RC51, I might be able to help with the undertail.

Re: new guy here

thanks scott. I've been browsing the site(s) (here, and speedzilla) for quite some time before I signed up, or even bought the bike. I'm familiar with your products (just ordered the soft rev kit from you off ebay) and can't wait to get some more goodies on my bike.

Right about now I'd trade all the mods for a nice day up in the 60's... lol

Re: new guy here

HEY! Where do you ride? I have an 01 RC51 and I am in Everett. I usually ride with a group that meet up on Newbury Street - but like you said season is not yet here. I havent even insured mine yet this season, but I saw a GSXR go by me on the Zakim Bridge yesterday and I was jealous.

Re: new guy here

pics soon to come. still need to get my camera out with me.

The season is almost here. I rode again today. I've put 75mi on the bike since Sunday. Once the sun goes down it gets real cold real fast though.. lol

slammp: I ride in/around Gardner, where I live, and mostly out in Western Mass, but that doesn't mean we can't organize a ride sometime this summer. We've got a relatively small group out here, only ~6 or 7 people that will actually ride, and a couple of them always head home after about an hour of seat time...
Register that thing and get riding!

Re: new guy here

Coming soon. I usually register it on April 1. I was passed by 25-30 sportbikes yesterday afternoon. It was like 50 degrees and sunny, I was standing on the sidewalk like a dope, man that sucked.

Re: new guy here

i'm in northwest ohio where the temp has barely gotten above 40 since october. But nevertheless, i've been out probably once a week since January regardless of temp of the road is dry.
