A quick introduction

Hi all,

I will be hanging around quiet a bit in the near future. I am picking up a 03 RC next week and CANT WAIT! I have obsessed over an RC for years and finally getting one.

Background: I moved Sep 06 from Germany to Georgia and 3 months later deployed to Iraq for 15 months. Just got back 2 weeks ago. It SURE is good to be back!!!!!

While stationed in Germany for 5 years I tried my BEST to kill my 01 Gixxer 1K(see pic and DONT kill me, I know its not a Honda). Taken it to its top speed, and left if there for a several minutes. Riden her on the Nurburgring, at Hockenheim and at Sachenring. She is a great bike, AFTER upgrades!

So I found my dream bike. A COMPLETLY stock 03 RC with only 1300 miles. I cant wait to get her. I plan to do the free mods, pipes, PCIII with quick shifter and so on. After I ride her I will decide if I wanna do any brake upgrades. Did I miss any "Typical" mods? Anything I NEED to know about RCs?

Ok, enough for now. Thanks for any input and take care!

Dan

Re: A quick introduction

Welcome!
Thank you for your service to our Country !

Glad you are safely back in the good ol USA.

Don't forget the soft-rev limiter, quick turn throttle and of course, the Nicky Mod. Stock brakes are pretty good. I'm using Ferodo rotors with Platinum pads front and rear, which is an improvement, especially if you do any track days.

Nicky Mod

Not a sticker.
It's a mod of the drive sprocket cover, cut away to allow the front sprocket be visible/accessible...try a search, I know it's been talked about with a pic or two...
It'll add way more street cred to your bike than any sticker could...
