| questions about rc51's from sp1- sp2 i know the 2000 rc51 was the sp1 and the next year after HRC and honda updated the rc51 it became the sp2.
my quetions are what if any other changes were made to the 2001 and up rc51 sp2's?????
and can you make a sp1 into a sp2? by swapping swingers, or is the linkage bolt on area different?
how is the maintinence on one of these bitches
and also how many miles per tank can i expect?
anything else I would need to know about them please help me out.
am i better off buying a cbr 1000r or a duc 750ish?
background, I have ridden/raced motorcycles since 15 years old on the dirt. test rode and built stret/dirt bikes and quads for a season.(yamie kawie) raced atv's in my late 20's
ive only had hondas my entire life. cr80's, cr125's cr 250's and the legendary fourtrax 250r.... ive ridden street bikes occasionally for fun but mostly i just built and test rode them. the head mechanic said I couldhandle anything and always said the rc51 is a good bike.
at this day in age i feel the rc51 is a really good deal, id ratehr buy one then a regular cbr 600 for 9k HAHHAHA NO THANKS!!!!
any help is appreciated thanks guys!!! |

| Re: questions about rc51's from sp1- sp2 SP1 = 2000 and 2001
SP2 = 2002 - 2006
Sorry, cant help with the swingarm swap question. I know the difference in the exhaust is an easy fix. Just bolt on a SP2 header, and presto, you can use any exhaust for the SP2's |

| Re: questions about rc51's from sp1- sp2 The SP2 is a bit more desirable, but theres nothjing wrong with the SP1. It is a little easier to find certain mods(pc3, exhaust) for the SP2, but dont let that discourage you about the SP1. You'll generally pay more for the newer one. |

| Re: questions about rc51's from sp1- sp2 Hey-Beerock-There's no doubt the RC is an awesome machine. You need to find some wide open spaces to really let it shine. The bike will seem like it's on rails at speed. |

plenty of wideopen areas GSP(garden state parkway, nj tpk, rt 78, rt 287 etc etc
its either a rc51 or 550-650whp(depending on what boost i want to run) turbos for my 2001 audi s4(with rods of course)
I have a wrecked s4 that dynod 430whp(550crank) with smaller turbs the new one is going tobe a widebody and it cant look good and not be fast.
the wrecked one use to kill gallardos and stay with 750cc bikes and barely get puled by 100cc bikes even up to 140.
but thing is id rather have abike and a car so im torn between what to do, and with gas prices a bike will pay for itself(hopefully)
