Its down tot he wire right now, found a 2001 rc51 with 14k on it

So supposedly the bike is mint, im going to look at it tomorrow.

the guy selling it bought it with 9k on it got a dui and needs to sell it

couple questions:

I read somewhere its hard to find an exhaust for a sp1 if i drop this thing i dont want to be worried I cant get a new exhaust.

whats differences are there between the plastics from year to year?

why were the engine mounts upgraded on the bike, do they crack or make the bike flex too much?

can the injectors be swapped from sp1 to sp2 and what about the throttle bodies can they be swapped as well??

does the sp1 get better gas mileage because of the smaller throttle bodies?

what is the flapper mod, soft rev mod and any other mods?(links would really help to the mods)

Or can i swap injectors and have better mileage due to smaller throttle bodies? I know if i do this it will have to be tuned, no problem for me though i can tune bikes.

my main issue is its a sp1 and I know i cant get a sp2 for 5500 but if one comes along for say 6 ill be kicking myself.

comes with the following:

power commander

frame sliders

new tire: rear

valves just adjusted has receipt

miles 14k

Jardine pipes

chrome wheels

1 tooth down in front 2 up in back

flush mount front lights

never down

diff undertail

2 helmets shoei large medium

2 pit bull stands

for 5500

bike has everything i need out of the bag the stands are a big plus. so are the 2 helmets. any info, help or opinions are appreciated its def down to the wire

Beerock - I spent 6000 on a low milage 2000RC. After having it for a year now, it's the best deal I can imagine. Don't sweat the fact that's an sp1. When you check out the bike, really take your time. Good luck man

I paid 5500 for '03 with 10k miles in NC. Jardines, PC and other extras and have seen several since in the same price range. If you want an SP2 just look around a bit more. I see SP1 exhausts on ebay regularly so that should not be a problem if you end up with one. I've not ridden both so no help there. Good luck.

The swing arm length is another major difference between the sp1 and 2. The bike is short already, go with an Sp2 for a slightly longer wheelbase. It is noticable. Be patient, the later model RC's are out there............
