FI light on?

Has any one had this issue with their RC51. I have a 2000 RC and the FI light blinks 8 times when the stand is down which indicates throttle position sensor error. The bike is all stock. Already unplugged 3-pin connector from sensor to see if there was a loose conection but that did not fix the problem. When the error comes on there is poor throttle response. It is intermediate and does not happen all of the time. The last time I had the bike out, it was throwing the error from initial start all the way through the 10 minute ride. I then shut the bike off for 5 minutes and started the bike up again. After starting it the second time there was no FI light error and no running issues. Seems to be hit or miss. If anyone has had this problem and has fixed it, please let me know what you did.

Thank you,

B
