| Tire Age I bought an 05 RC in 2006. Rode it for a while and due to a busier than normal schedule, let it sit for almost all of 2007. I stored it on both a rear and front stand. My question is: Now that the tires are three years old, how worried should I be about the tire? The tire feels a little hard, although I can make little marks by pressing with my finger nail.
Thanks |

| Re: Tire Age The worst I've seen was a quete by Brigestone (if I recall correctly) official who stated a loss of 5% per year.
According to this a 3 year old tire has 85% of the grip when you.
However another official (this time from Metzler) argued fierily that they have tested a 5 year old tires and found very little degradation unnoticed to the road rider.
BTW one of the most improtant issues is how were this tires storred - no sunlight and away from source of ozone.

| Re: Tire Age Thanks for the replies. I've been checking the pressure before I leave. Still sitting at 31/31. |
