01 RC51 Throttle sticking I have a new to me 2001 RC51 and when I fire it up it idles fine, and if you blip the throttle a little, up to 3000 rpm, it will return to idle, but when you rev it up to 5+k rpm it will stay. I let it warm up for quite a while, so I dont think its a temp problem. Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: 01 RC51 Throttle sticking factory hand grip or aftermarket? If not stock, check them...spray with honda cleaner or WD40...after I put on new ones, they would stick once in a while until trimmed/worn enough

Re: 01 RC51 Throttle sticking yeah gel grips are the worst about this. you can also try cutting a piece of hard plastic into a circle and putting it between the grip and the switch housing. the hard plastic will slide against the plastic housing easier than the soft rubber of the grip. Milk jug makes a good one.

Re: 01 RC51 Throttle sticking No theyre factory grips, the throttle snaps back like it should, but if you twist hard closing the throttle, when its stuck reving, it will lower the rpms just a little. I'm going to take the throttle housing off and see if theres anything obvious in there, but i dont think its the throttle tube or housing, it seems like its the throttle body getting stuck open somehow. I took the seat off and you can get to the throttle body pretty easy so I am going to see if theres something getting stuck down there. Any new suggestions?

Re: 01 RC51 Throttle sticking Its Fuel Injected. I just had the battery out for the past two months, The throttle body seems like it moves freely without any restrictions. Would there be a Throttle Position Sensor, because its FI?
