| Re: who runs 87 octane in there rc51's? I have an 01, full leo vinci exhaust, power commander and all I run is 87. No problems, and I do some aggressive riding in the twistie foothills. |

| Re: who runs 87 octane in there rc51's? unless you have high comp pistons, should be fine on 87. ive noticed a bit more fuel mileage using the 91+ but very minimal. that said i only buy 89. |

| Re: who runs 87 octane in there rc51's? I nottice I get better mileage with 89 then 87. I get about 110-120 on a tank of 87 and 150-160 on a tank of 89. I have a full leo vincy exaust no power comander |

| Re: who runs 87 octane in there rc51's? We don't have 89 here. I think we have 87 91 93..but I always run the 93. I don't know if it makes a difference but in the manual it clearly says to run 92 octane so I go with the 93. Although I have once put the 87 in it because I didn't have the manual yet and it didn't really make a difference other then a spark knock type deal but I think thats because the bike was used to the 93. |

| Re: who runs 87 octane in there rc51's? i was running 87 in it but a couple times if i gave to much gas on after a stop, right above idle it would ping so I went back to 93. I may go back to 87 or maybe 89 for a good margin from detonation.
the detonation is not uncommon on some bikes i have ridden with 87 but im not quite sure I like the slight ping. once again its only on occasion when im stopped and give it a large amount of throttle. it goes away once revved up off of idle |
