Steering lock doesn't work after clip-ons

Hey guys, first timer here. I've searched all over the internet for this problem, including this forum, to no avail. Here's the deal.

I recently bought an '03 RC51 with a 2in1 Jardine exhaust. I have since put on a PCIII, a set of Kyle Racing clip-ons and a Scotts damper.

After the clip-ons and damper were installed, my handlebar won't lock any more - to either side. I didn't run into any other clearance issues.

I've seen people talking about "the pin going into the hole" when they turn the steering all the way left. Where are the pin and the hole? Can anyone tell me?

I suspect this is a case of alignment problem. So if someone can explain to me how the steering lock works that'd be very helpful! Cheers.

I didnt have that issue when I put on some Helibars. You just took off the upper triple right? Doesnt seem like the alignment should have changed.

where in the bay area?

I'm over in Fresno and there are only 3 of us with RCs

Steering lock is simple, there is a hole on either side of the neck, and there is a pin (i call it) that enters the hole when the bars are turnned to either side. Take the damper off and then see if the bars will lock. If they do then that is the prob, go from there. I havent seen the clipons that you speak of, but that could be the problem too. Oh yeah, be sure that the triple is back down in place also.

Hey guys thanks. Rockitt51 you got it right - my upper triple was not pushed all the way down, I was struggling with some clearance issues and didn't pay attention to this. I tore it apart and redid everything just now and it worked.

Jzanutto - I live in Menlo Park. Haven't seen a lot of RC's around, but I'll relatively new here. I wonder how many RC's Honda sold here - it just wasn't a very common bike. Back when RC was introduced dealers were charging a big markup for them.
