SP2 manual fan switch mod

I'm interested to know if anyone has successfully done the manual fan switch mod to an SP2, by tying into the black wire at the fan relay.

If you have successfully done it, tell where you found the relay and any problems you had, or where did you mount the switch or where did you ground the other side of the switch to?

Re: SP2 manual fan switch mod

Did it on my 05 RC51, it was easy. Removed the seat and rear cowl for easy access. Bought a toggle switch with wire leads and sealed the case with epoxy. Recycled the front reflector bracket and reshaped to hold toggle switch. Used a self stripping tap connector on the black wire at the fan relay, ran some wire to the toggle switch I mounted off the fuel tank pivot bolt (you need to take the bolt out and turn it around to mount on right side). I decided to mount it here for convenience. Used a 1/4" ring terminal and fastened to main ground on frame. Connected wires using bullet receptacles and used heat shrink tubing to weather proof. Works geat, special thanks jzanutto for your research on this.
