About left radiator

Recently I wrecked my 03 RC51 and the fairing busted and poked a hole into the left radiator. Well, the reservoir tank is full up to line and I can run the bike without anything happening and the reservoir tank never getting any lower.

So, does the fluid not move through the left radiator till it gets to a certain operating temp or something? I'm a little confused on it.

Thanks for any help!

Re: About left radiator

it might have just put a hole in the fin material. There are some small, narrow tubes that the water flow through, if you poked one of those then you would see water flowing out. Once your bike comes up to temp, like 190 or so then the thermostat is open and water is flowing through the whole system.

sounds like you really dont have a hole

Well its not in the fins, its in the actual tank. Here is some pics:

You can't really see the hole but there is a small one there. I actually haven't ran the bike up to 190 because its just sitting in my shop torn apart so that may be the reason, I'm just wanting to make sure before I have this one fixed or buy another.

Re: About left radiator

thats easy. since the fairings are off, take off that radiator and take it to a rad shop and have them braze over that. Might cost you about 40 bucks or so. Maybe cheaper

Well the pictures you really can't see it but yea theres a pin hole in there. probably about the size of this letter "o" not very big but it doesn't take a big hole to leak. (I race dirt track and have lost my share or rads..lol)
