Help with front brake fitment issues??

OK my bike is an 02' with an 01' front wheel. I'm putting it back together after a wreck so thats why they're different. I think the forks may even be from an 04' but I'm not completely sure. Anyways my brake calipers don't fit right unless I use washers and thats not quite an exact science. Honda shows different part numbers for 00-01 wheels and 02-06 wheels but the wheel fits perfect in there and spins good until I put the calipers on. The rotors from my 02 wheels even fit perfectly on the wheel. Brakes all line up but they're tight like I said. Anybody have a clue?

What I could really use are some pictures from you guys of the bracket that connects to the fork and brakes. I need to see what kin of fitment you have there. Lucky for me it doesn't look like Honda sells just that bracket.

Maybe you've sorted this already, but anyway...

The '02 onwards bikes (SP-2) use a different caliper mount bracket to suit the different mounting lugs on the fork lowers. The SP-2 brackets will fit SP-1 forks but NOT vice versa.

My guess is you have a mismatch of parts due to the above.

BTW, calipers are the same fitting, but have different piston sizes though and the master cylinders are also different. Make sure you have all that matched up correctly or braking could be below par.
