Re: rc51 headers

Sp1 is 00-01 SP2 is 02+

Some parts are interchangable but most are not. You can search on different parts sites to compare what does or doesn't fit if you are looking for something in particular.

BTW on edit: In the title you have "header" So I'm assuming your wanting to know if this will fit all years? I'm gonna say no on that, for the 01 they use 18150-MCF-003 and for 02+ they have 18150-MCF-051.

Two different numbers, so I assume there is going to be some difference between the two. The site I look this stuff up on is: Cheap Cycle Parts | Can-Am (Bombardier) OEM Parts | Honda OEM Parts | Kawasaki OEM Parts | KTM OEM Parts | Polaris OEM Parts | Sea-Doo OEM Parts | Suzuki OEM Parts | Yamaha OEM Parts

Hope that helps!

Re: rc51 headers

lotman97,
If your question is whether SP2 headers will fit your SP1 bike or not, they will. there is a difference in SP1 and SP2 headers, but either will bolt up to either engine, as the engine didnt change between variations. However, if you do use SP2 headers, you'll likewise need SP2 mufflers, or mids and cans if you go with an aftermarket setup.

Re: rc51 headers

SP2 headers wont do very well on SP1 motor cuz of the D-shaped flange. SP1 headers have round flanges and work on both motors.

Re: rc51 headers

i have a set of yoshimura stainless headers for both SP1 and 2. The diameter tubing is widened to allow more gasses to flow and conical construction accelerate the flow. another bonus is it saves weight.

my pipes are for sale or trade. check out my post

Could you possibly expand on this. What do you mean by "flanges". AFAIK the studs in the head are the same so I'd expect the 'flanges' (as I understand the term) to fit either head.

Needless to say, I'm trying to establish if the SP-2 headers can be fitted to an SP-1.
