suspension settings????

Can anyone explain to me how to set my suspension or at least a good starting point. I have never done this before and hve no clue what things are so this would have to be in lamen terms aka idiot terms I am 180 lbs and ride on the street only if that helps

I gave a short description of the three main adjustments available on the front forks of the 954 on this thread. I don't know the RC's adjustments, but they are probably the same (preload, compression, damping).

The rear swingarm usually has only two adjustments - preload and damping.

Check out this thread and the supplied reference. (I just found it by searching on "suspension" on this forum.)

Brc51m,Pick yourself up a copy of "Sportbike Suspension Tuning" by Andrew Trevitt. He explains in detail (in easy to understand terms) exactly how sportbike suspensions work,and how to set them up properly. Tons of pics,tricks,tips,and insider info plus a suspension troubleshooting guide at the back of the book. Imho,it's an absolute must-read book if you want to learn how your RC51's suspension works. Hope this helps you. Remember,you're not braking til your rear wheel's lifting,until then you're just slowing down.
