Re: rear seat insert problem.

It should snap right in and be flat? I would look at the locking mechanism on the cover and see if its bent. Does the passenger seat fit good?

Re: rear seat insert problem.

If I am thinking correctly here (and I am at work without the bike to actually look at), but the seat has two metal hooks on the front end that wrap around a post and then the rear has a metal loop that snaps down into the locking mechanism.

I would say that if it is fully locked and not flush in the rear, that that locking mechanism is bent up. I would try to bend it down. Take a wood block and place it on the locking mechanism and then hit the wood with a hammer until it goes down. Start out lightly and then check the seat fit, see if it has improved and then go back to hammering it. I would imagine that this would not be too hard to correct, but again I am at my desk so were working off of memory here.

Was the RC ever crashed? The subframe is probably bent. See if you can loosten up the rear cowl a bit and pull it up and re-tighten the bolts.
That might bring the cover a little closer...

Re: rear seat insert problem.

I have an 04, and just installed a scorpio alarm. this required the removal of the rear faring to do the Wiring. when put the faring back on I had the same problem you have encountered. try putting the cowl cover back on and pulling up on the tail of the fairing, the tilt will go away and i think you might just have to loosen up the bolts and adjust the pitch of your fairing. hope this helps.
