Re: How collectible is the RC51, really?

Now lets think!!!!!!!!! what we ALL know is what we ALL read or get told, so the difference's are still a bit vague to some owners, I can only give my opinion SP1 1999-2001 fantastic bike SP2 2002-2006 fantastic bike, Iv'e owned both and i think their are qualities in both but i prefer the SP2 swingarm/wheels/indicators and rear fender visually. The engine's feel almost the same with the SP2 better fueled and a bit stronger higher in the revs. I had a duc 996s at the same time as my first SP2 and it was a better handling bike but nowhere near as fast! but i did wonder every time i hit the starter if it would get me home, it did let me down once in france on a weeks holiday in the Alps so i sold it.
Will it become collectable? YES IT WILL but you will need a nice one with lowish miles and original, will it be worth more than we all paid probably not.
But it will ALWAYS be a bike honda built just to race in AMA and WSB.
