Grips

What are some of the best aftermarket grips for the RC? Want to change the look and feel of my stock ones.

Re: Grips

i only use renthal grips. i have the medium (dark gray) on there now, you can also get them in firm which is black in color ( prob similar to stock) and soft which is light gray. i'd recommend either medium or soft, depending on what you want.

Re: Grips

+1 on that. I run the Ranthal Grey (medium?) but on the 929 and love them. Talk about feed back and feeling of making you more in tune with whats happening up front. I'm going to pick up the RC but was concerned with vibration bother my hands, using these will that be a problem?
Thanks in advance for your input, Bob

Re: Grips

Renthal are without a doubt one of the best you can use.

Have a set on the SP1 and wouldn't change them back to original grips

The Renthals are made up of thinner more grippy rubber so they feel smaller to the hand when riding, and give better feed back than stock grips

If you are slapping them onto an RC51 (SP1) then you will feel more vibration, but not enough to complain about

Buy a set you won't regret it ( not working on commission honestly )

Oh yes, forgot to say, medium compound felt better to me but you have a choice of three

H T H good luck

Re: Grips

As far as I know only harleys have a larger diameter grip/bar, the rest are 7/8" (22mm?).
As for the vibration, I had a BMW K100 as a commuter when I first got my RC and the BMW (in line 4cyl) had a vibration that numbed the palms, while the RC's vibration was never bothersome. Vibration has frequency, amplitude, and direction. A Harley's vibration will just shake your brain around inside the skull which has the effect of buying an other one
Somehow the RCs vibration was the least of all discomfort problems to worry about, to the point that I have to ask myself if there is any!

Re: Grips

Hi All,

Does anybody know where i could get some grips with VTR or SP1/HRC logo written on them. I can find lots with CBR on them but nothing for the RC51
