Cooling fans question

It seems both my cooling fans are seized up. I have new motor assembly's on the way, anyone ever done this themselves? Easy or hard process? Also is there a possibility anyone can think of why both would be seized up, like a possibility that its not the motors maybe a faulty wire or something? Thoughts? Thanks!

Re: Cooling fans question

Seized up, means not turning, right, which is different from not turning on. As I doubt they both "seized" up I expect you meant the later.
Check the relay in the back of the tail. If you ground the black wire going to it the fans should turn on with the switch on the on position.
The signal to the relay comes from the ECU, so cross your fingers that is is a wire or the relay being stuck.

Re: Cooling fans question

Disregarding possible electrical problems, it's possible the bearings have seized.
Mine were squeaking on the left fan, so I replaced both of them.
The fans are mounted to the radiators, so you'll have to remove them to get to the fans. The rans are mounted on brackets which are bolted to the radiators.
The fan is slotted and mounted onto the fan motor shaft with one nut.
