Re: suspesion setting?

Set up rider sag as described here

Motorcycle Suspension Set-up

set up all damping to original settings

biggest problem you have and notice is hard suspension

to overcome this you need to set the spring preloads to suit your weight

works a charm

you will prob end up with soft preloads compared to standard but then at least you can get the suspension travel right for you

tyre pressures 36 f 36 r for solo riding

42 r if you have pillion

Re: suspesion setting?

If you use the search for suspension settings on RC51 I had copy pasted a table from sportbike magazine of various years of RCs where they recommend what they found to work best for them. For street iding and your weight I;d go at a click softer on each to start with, but they give you a good starting point to fiddle with.
Make sure once you find a set up that works well for you to write down in detail a note. After time and more fiddling it is common that you lose touch and you are off to the wrong direction and want to retrack but have lost the good set up for the worst. On an other bike I had where the Ohlins canister was out on the side someone passed by and turned the knob a few clicks away. After a little while I noticed something weird and readjusted to what my notes said. Good thing I had kept some as by hand I was making bad things worse.
