| Re: Mods I pulled my flapper out of the intake outlet and then removed the servo unit that controlled it. Dan sells a block off plate for $25 I think (I have it installed on mine).
Also do the soft rev limiter mod that Booth talked about. It just calls for jumpering a couple of the stock ECU connections or you can do it at the PC3 if you have one.
Other than that you can add an exhaust for better sound. Don't expect an aftermarket exhaust to give a bunch of HP to the bike without making it ultra loud though (way worse than an I4). |

| Re: Mods mmmmm'kay, I have the PCIIIR and I have not done the soft rev mod...is it hard...and more importantly...IS IT WORTH IT? I remember when I did the flapper mod on my 929... it did probably little to nothing as far as seat hp went. might have got a .25hp on the dyno...but whatever. That's one reason the RC's flappers still in there... |

| Re: Mods Even though I ain't riding one I have certainly done alot of research on the bike who wouldn't it's a V twin.
Basically everyone seems to say much of the same thing.
Go to R.O.U.G.E huge list of mods, what are good what are crap, cheap expensive etc.
My 2c?
-pc3r-better throttle response, and yes even better fuel economy
-remove mesh around stock air filter, better than after market
-End cans, don't bother with a full system unless money is no object as gain per dollar ain't worth it.
-lower the gearing (it's very tall stock), cheap, and feel it in the back of your pants improvment
-fender elliminater, cause they look growse
-And the flapper mod
And there you have it a 1 litre duc eater. |

| Re: Mods The soft limiter removal does make a difference. There is no cutting of anything stock, you just get a splice from Dan/LDH and stick it in one ECU port to another, literally 5 minute mod. What this enables is five more HP at the top end. Considering our bikes are the only ones neutered that I know about, I did it and can feel the extra pull.
As far as the RC goes, the most popular and performance enhancing mods are:
15/41 gearing w/ 520 chain.
Flapper mod/Soft rev limiter mod/Pair Valve removal
Sato Exhausts of any type
PCIIIr with a Dan Kyle map.
Moriwaki or Dan Kyle Dogbone for the rear
Ohlins/Penske shock sprung for your correct weight
DK modified forks
HRC brake pads
Sato Clip ons (comfort, turn this bike from a rack to a comfortable sportbike) |
