Adjusting main headlight on a CBR 954

My low beam headlight is a problem at night on the interstate as it only illuminates 25 feet or so of road. Unless I'm following a set of tail lights, I'm usually forced to run with my high beams just to see the curves. Does anyone have any experience with adjusting the throw of the beam? Can it even be done?

thanks,
Jeff

Re: Adjusting main headlight on a CBR 954

there are 3 bolts/screw on the back of the headlight.

The one on the left/bottom side adjusts left/right
The one on the right/top which you can see behind the hole in the metal bracket that holds the light in place, adjusts up and down.
This is all in the manual.

There is anotherone not documented. Its the bottom right one. You are not supposed to fiddle with it, because I think its purpose is to be used in conjuction with the up/down adjuster to adjust the focus of the lenses. (also changes the relationship of high/low beams)

I have played with it to get the best focus out of my HIDs, due to a slightly different bulb compared to a normal H7. (All HIDs are different than incadecend lights due to the orientation of the filnament/spark gap).

I would suggest that you use the two normal adjusters as per the manual to adjust your lights and only use the bottom right one if you know what you are doing and can not get a good result with the normal adjusters.

Hope that helps
