Superbike bars on a Superhawk?

Did a search but I didn't find anything. Anyone here put superbike bars on a Super Hawk? I'm lookin for the "cheap alternative" to heli bars and such. Seems kinda dead in here.

Superbike bars, what Eddie Lawson and those guys used on race bikes in the late 70's, early 80's before clip-ons were invented. Kind of like inbetween straight bars and dirtbike bars. Check out the linky:

Smack, Killer & CaptainKos both did it on the Superhawk.com forum and I'm gonna try it

I've got the bar mounts ordered and looking a a bar now...I'm doing a swap to RC51 forks, so I haven't decided which top triple I'll use either a 954 or RC51 SP-1.

You got stock forks?

I would use the RC51 SP1 triple. The 929/954 triple has a gullwing shape to it, which is a good option if you wanted to put clip ons on top of the triples (this is what all the VFR guys do when they do the RC51 front-end swap).

I put 929/954 triples on my VFR when I did the RC51 front end swap. It worked great since I had clip-ons on top of the triple. But, I've recently switch to superbike bars and I'm using the RC51 SP1 top triple since it provides a nicer mounting surface for the bar-mounts.

Honestly, after 1700 miles now since I posted this I think I'm staying with the stock clip ons. They really aren't to bad, I just had to adjust myself to find a comfortable position and now that I have I don't really feel the bars are necassary. I'm sure that'll change some day when I'm bored. Who knows. Thanks for the suggestions.
