| Rev extend on 954rr Hello all, today I tried the rev extend mod, but when I put everything back together the fuel pump wasnt working, so the bike wouldnt start. Im not sure how many of you know much about this mod, but I have as follows the instructions as to what I did.
1:removed seat and battery
2:removed ecu cover
3:took grey block out (right hand side looking towards tank)
4:took pin 20 (black and white) and placed it into pin 17 (empty)
5:put everything back together
Turned the ignition on and straight away I didnt hear the fuel pump as normal, but I tried to start it anyway, obviously it wouldnt start, so I had to reverse what I had done. Pump is working fine again, so my question is....Do you leave pin 20 where it is, but bridge it over to pin 17 so it is connected into both pins at the same time? |

| Re: Rev extend on 954rr tried bridging it and its problem solved, rev is extended, but it was firing two foot long blue flames out of the exhaust, looks cool but it needs fuelling sorted, just need to get the dynojet map onto the power commander to try it out on the dyno, the map is on the dynojet website if anyone is interested, its for a full akrapovic system with velocity stacks and rev extend mod, so the bike should hopefully be making power up there!

| Re: Rev extend on 954rr With OEM cams I'd be surprised if it is making significant power past about 12,000rpm. Any likelyhood of a dyno graph?
Is it only firing flames when it hits the limiter?

| Re: Rev extend on 954rr Yes the bike has oem cams, had considered changing the cams but ive heard that it will take away the gain from the velocity stacks unless they are degree'd in, and to be honest I think that is out of my depth, last thing I want to do is bang a piston against a valve or make a mess of the bikes fuelling (its bad enough already ). I dont have a dyno graph yet, but if its making good power up to 12k I'll be happy,at the moment it feels like it drops off at between 10 and 11k, but thats just how it feels, I may be wrong. The blue flames shoot out when I close the throttle when its in the redline, does that mean its too rich, unburnt fuel? And while we are on the subject, how do rizla suzuki get that bike to breathe orange flames the way it does, looks brilliant! I am still waiting to get the rev extend map onto the power commander, that should get it somewhere close on the fuelling, then I will get the dyno boys to fine tune it and see how its doing, cant wait! |

| Re: Rev extend on 954rr When I had my 954 dyno'd, she ran peak 133 @ 10,500...
Not sure why you have a weak spot between 10-11...

| Re: Rev extend on 954rr Its maybe just my imagination, but it just feels like it runs out of breath at those rpm, it could be the fact that I have modified the bike without changing the fuelling, think that is why its spitting flames, wouldnt mind the flames if I knew it was running sweet! |
