Dewinterizing tips

For some it is starting to warm up, others it never really got cold and then the last group; well sorry, it’s still cold.

When it is time to ride, what do you need to do? The battery should be fully charged; the air pressure in the tires should be checked. The fuel should be good, as fuel stabilizer should have been added before it was stored and the oil should have been changed. A thorough check of the bike should also be performed; check the brakes and the clutch. Check the major nuts and bolts to make sure they are tight, check the chain slack and lube it as well. Let the bike fully warm up, check for any leaks and then hit the road and have fun.

A good set of instructions there Lan!

NB: If you did not add fuel stabilizer to the fuel system, the fuel may have gone stale and "off". As a result, it will not ignite as easy and therefore may give you problems starting/idling and also generally running.

Drain the tank and add a fresh supply.
