| New here Just a note to say hi to everyone here.
Had a quick scan thru some threads and the site seems very good, and different from most other bike forums. Yet to see the usual 'How to wheelie' and 'How do I do stunts' type threads... thank god
Not got a bike at the moment as I got wiped out at a crossroads on a CBR600FT. Total write off. I've owned many Hondas in my time but never a Fireblade, so I think this will be my next purchase.
Not sure what model to get yet so I'll do some research by searching thru the threads here. |

Where in Cumbria are you? My mum and dad have a place in Urswick. One of my brothers lives in Ulverston and runs a Shell garage in Barrow. |

| Re: New here Hi RPinOZ
I live in Dalton now but used to live in Ulverston as a kid. My parents used to live in Urswick, they ran the shop/post office there but are now retired and moved to Millom.
I'm a driving instructor and I go to the shell garage every other day as the test centre is in Barrow. Do you know this area well?
And thanks for the welcome everyone |

And thanks for the welcome everyone | My parents moved to Urswick after I left home in '72 so while I've visited a few times I wouldn't say I knew the area well. I came back and lived in Urswick with my Aussie wife in 1980 for 6 months and I did get a bit of a taste for Hartley's beer from the wood (when it was still brewed in Ulverston) which was lovely as long as you went to a pub where they could look after it like the Braddawls (sp?) , not the Derby Arms . My folks are living here in Oz until April/May when they will return to Urswick and we have threatened to visit them sometime in the English summer which will probably be a few days in July if you're lucky
My brother's name is Nick. He's about 50 so surprise him and say "Rich says hello" next time you're at the Shell Lakeland in Barrow. |

| Re: New here Braddylls Arms altho pronounced like your spelling. There's 2 that I know about, one in Ulverston and one at Barsea. The other pub in Urswick is called the General Burgoyne.
I'll be sure to say Hi to 'Nick' when I see him. |

I'll be sure to say Hi to 'Nick' when I see him. | It was the Braddylls in Bardsea I was thinking about. I've drunk at the General Burgoyne too but I don't remember the beer being anything special. Mind you this is harking back to 1980 and I'm sure a lot has changed since then. CAMRA is doing a good job though, I hear. |

| Re: New here Welcome to the board & you can still obtain NEW Honda 954s in the shops of the dealers to even some still at the Distributor's sheds. Same was done in '03 with chaps latching onto new 929s.
Fact is I laid down what I wanted in colour for my 954 in August '04 & now have it along with my 929 & a 600.

| Re: New here Hi Smitty. I couldn't stretch (pricewise) to a new bike, even a previous model. But as I have said in another thread, I got myself a '00 929 that I pick up on Thursday...
Thanks for the welcome. |
