Hello to All. I've spent some time lurking on the ORG before making my decision to buy. I picked up a 04 in black. Now come on,,, somebody tell me it the fastest color. Well, I am a "mature returning" rider. I quit when my sons started middle school and started back in 01. Bought the bike I wanted when I quit, V65 Magna. Decided to launch into the world of technology with an FZ1 ( hence Streaker ). I love the twisties so much, last year I bought a SV650S and spent the money to get the suspenders right.
As much as I love the SVS i appreciate the power of the FZ1. My hope is that I will enjoy the fireblade as much as I did the SVS. One thing I know is when I ran out of steam on the SVS, I'm just getting started on the CBR. Don't let me give you the wrong impression. I'm too "green" to be anywhere near as fast as the fast guys ( talented riders ). I just wanted to be able to feel safer passing at higher speeds knowing there is some reserve power there and still have a bike that loves the twisties.
I rode it home yesterday from the dealer and the ride yielded some interesting facts. Pleanty of torque for me. Suspension so tight that it bounced me off the seat at 65 when I hit some big bumps. I still have to set sag and I'll probably soften up both ends a little to match my style. Gotta get those sliders on order.
Thanks for the great board,
Bill

well other than the Replica colors (Repsol 1000 and Erion 929) Red is second fastest and black is third. (but there is a blue 600rr thats been sitting at my local honda dealership for awhile that they won't bring to my house, that would be one of the faster colors if I had my hands on it) enjoy the ride, everyone seems to love that bike.
