There are a few of from the UK on here

but "them over there" tend to hog the bandwidth so it's hard to get a word in between

.

I wouldn't discount something like the cbr 6 I know its quick but its also light and modern with impecable manners.
Insewerance is going to be an issue for you but sadly its a price we have to pay over here.
As far as leathers, second hand quality gear seems to be going for 250 ish, which to me seems alot of money when you can get new Hein Gerrick stuff for arround that kind of money.

I wouldn't rule out a textile jacket. I have one and its done it job admirably. Been on the ground a couple times (very low speed though, under 15mph I'd say) and has a couple scuffs. I sowed up a hole over the left shoulder above the armor. But I have no idea where that hole came from because the top of my shoulder has never hit the ground.

Just wait until you're sliding across the tarmak at high speed...even leather don't last long at high speeds! I've tested my alpinestars suite at 120+...I had holes in the ass and it didn't take but a sec to get hot and eat up the cow on my butt. Low side at 45...just scuffs.

Just trying to save someone some hide! They are cool..temperature wise.

well for street use I'm not going 120

but yes for high speeds leather is definetly the way to go.

yeah but even at low street speeds I'd much rather be sweating my ass off in the hot leather knowing it will hold up in a skid across the pavement. They are better than nothing, cool and cheap but to me it's like wearing a baseball helmet to ride in. I've had my share of road rash!

I'd say it was the buzzards pecking at you.

I've got a hole in lower right sleve of my Cordura jacket after a 110km/h off, shoulder was all good though, just a few scratches there. What did you use to sow it up the hole, anything special?
