| New Kid In town I have always liked animals a lot, I had Gus the rottie for 7 years before he died from heart failiure that was 3 years ago.
This kid had JACK , baught him because of what he was, an american pit bull terrier, to look tuff He could not take good care of him so he offered me to buy it off him
I strongly believe that there is no bad dog, but only bad masters so after falling in love with the skinny red nose I baught it and there is a new member in our fammily.
I cannot beleive how smart he is And what a caracter he his funny goofy he made me smile all weekend.
The cat in the house is like WTF

| Re: New Kid In town Nice pup! My friend has a Staffordshire Terrier and it's just an incredible dog. I hope your cat realizes the dog has already renamed it "lunch". Sooner or later it'll disappear. |

| Re: New Kid In town if you are planning on leaving him(?) alone in the house you may want to consider a crate? bully breeds are notorious for destroying a house in the matter of a day. I love the dog and with him being brown in colour you will find that most people wont bug you about your "aggresive" dog(comparied to a brindle or solid) congrats on the new addition |

| Re: New Kid In town You may want to look into a medium sized one too, it is a lot safer when you take them with you in the auto to have them in a their kennel, they dont mind if you get them used to it. Plus if you have to leave them in a "big" kennel you may come home to a smelly mess. |

| Re: New Kid In town Congrats on the new pup! You are right, trainer/owners are the problem. Pits are not aggressive by nature, they are taught to behave that way by morons My aunt has several and they are the biggest babies. Now she also has a chow chow, as do I, and they are naturally a more aggressive breed. Anyone who has/had a chow knows what I mean. Anyway have fun with the little fella!

They were bred to be dominant, and animal aggressive. Pit bulls, by nature, like to attack animals more than many other breeds. It doesn't mean they're bad pets, but it means most owners aren't good for them because they are in denial.
We have a bullmastiff, and he's sweet as can be until another dog or animal sets him off, then he gets aggressive. No amount of socialization or training will (or would've, he's a rescue and old now) ever changed that. |

| Re: New Kid In town Great lookin' pup! Congrats.
FWIW, my buddy has a Pit Bull that might as well be a cat. He is the most loving, docile dog I've ever met.

He is a love ball I cannot beleive it
He was left alone in the house today did not do a thing, went outside for his poupou
BTW, I will be careful at all times when with other animals he will never be loose.
I agree that a lot of people are in denial, they are a fighting dog so I good specimen has to be dog agressive. They are not human agressive in fact the are not good gard dogs because they love humains to much. They should not be trained to attack humains at all, that causes problems.

| Re: New Kid In town Sounds like you are going to be a responsable dog owner cheers to that, I hate it when people buy dogs and "wear" them like status symbols, that really gets to me. Pit bulls are dog agressive, but, if socialized they can cohabitate with just about anything. They dont HAVE to be dog agressive.
Really keep an eye on him when he is with other animals and reprimand for mouthing as a pup, you will find that the best way to punish a bully is ignore them, not physically punish them(not saying that you would, just saying) I am sure that things will work out fine, keep updating the pics, he will surely grow fast. |

| Re: New Kid In town Cool, it sounds like you're on top of it man. My neighbor has a great pit mutt.
Animals are like people, they all have their own personality. Despite what feel good'ers would have you believe, some people, and some animals are just aggressive and love a fight. No amount of "counseling" or as we call it for dogs, training, is gonna change it.
Pits are worse than many breeds in this regard, and are also one of the breeds that bites to kill.
