 | Saying hello .... Hey all, Im a local on the RC51 side of this forum ... but this week i picked up a 01 929 in purple / blue. Its a nice bike, got it at a nice price but damnit it was filthy ..... McNasty. Gave it a wash, ripped the sprocket cover off and it was filled with sand, chainlube, mosquitos, grass, stones etc etc , all wedged into a thick chain lube cake. The original owner had a octane booster bottle in the duck tail that leaked, etc etc , cleaned that all out , pulled the ECU and battery out, cleaned all that area , washed it all out and its as new now. Ripped the fairing and rear wheel off last night, cleaned all the linkage, shock, swingarm, rear caliper, took off chain buffer and cleaned under etc etc etc along with the engine , headers and so forth .... its getting there, and looking great now, as it was "preserved" in layers of WD-40, oil, octane booster and dust  Anyways. It rides fine, just needs some work to make it look nice, and the HTEV valve is REAL noisey... may make up a eliminator for it, or buy one. Its got a blue Micron bolton can with a PC3USB, AFAM front cross drilled (1 down) and Vortex rear (1 up) as the only mods.
