| Hello from Cape Town South Africa Hi all,
I'm very new to the bike industry, thanks to my husband, I am now very interested and I am considering bying my first bike by the new year, I've set my heart on a 400 Fireblade. I haven't seen many 400's at the rallies I've attended in Cape Town, South Africa, I've seen bigger ones. I'm not a very big person, a friend recommended this particular bike for my size to start off with as I weigh 53kgs, after doing some research I've totally falling in love with this bike. I'm interested in something blue. Do the 400 "babyblades" come in blue? I've only seen red.
I really could do with some advice as I know very little about bikes.
Thanks
Tracy |

| Re: Hello from Cape Town South Africa The 400s never make it to the US, so I couldn't tell you about the choice of colors. Nice choice though, as the 400cc Fireblade is a very nice machine.

| Re: Hello from Cape Town South Africa really neat bike... but I would suggest the RVF (NC24) V4 engine
both they are great bikes and you are gonna get a good feeling about supersports in terms of handling and riding style/techniques
welcome!

| Re: Hello from Cape Town South Africa Hi there,
Thank you all for the welcome. Thanks for the image Sporky, I like the colours. Is it light like the 400CBR RR? I did find out this weekend from a friend who has a stunning blue Honda CBR XX, the 400's don't come in blue, but he said I can spray which I don't think I want to go that way but I will see.
Regards
T |

Tracey what nobody tell you is that a lot of bikers start of want to buy a bike but not sure what and the mistake everbody is doing and personally i think is cause of fear they go for a 400 cause it is not fast and its small. What a bunce of RUBBISH.I made the mistake years ago by getting myself a ZZR400.Two track days later and not even 2000km on the clock i trade it in for a 600.The 400s today reach easily a speed of 200+ ,the ground clearance between a 400 and 600 are the bare minnimum. If you didnt make a mistake already and i am in time to stop you wasting your money i rather suggest by getting yourself and seconhand 600 and start from there and go to your local track school where they will show you how to control you and the bike. Why i say secondhand i know about a lot of people that spend big amounts of money on bikes and they become dust collectors in a garage cause they dont like it or they scared of it.YOU DONT BECOME A BIKER YOU ARE BORN A BIKER.HAPPY RIDING |

Tracy | Tracy................I myself am 5' 2" and 53kg and ride a Blade 929 and R1..........but for starting off I'd recommend the VFR 400 (NC30)....you'll love.....it doesn't come in blue but if you really love it.....I'll bet you'll pay a little bit extra to get it sprayed blue!
The only blue 400cc bike similar to that of the CBR 400 is the Kawasaki ZXR 400.......but stick with Honda!!!
Nice to know more lady bikers....
Regards,
Macattack |

| Re: Hello from Cape Town South Africa Hi All,
Thank you all for the good advice, since my last posting I have since got myself a Suzuki GSXR400 X Impulse to learn to ride on. She is in a very good condition. Well, i've pushed her to 205kph and loved it. I've also taken her on the track at Kilarnery and WOW. My heart is still set on a Fireblade but now I want a 600cc.
I went for a nice breakfast run yesterday with a friend over Hellshoogte and pushed it nicely around those bends. Yieeeee Haaaaaaaaa.
Anyway, besides my next goal in getting a 600 Fireblade I want to learn to lift my front wheel and ride it... |

Well done on getting the bike. I'm from Cape Town, but now live in the UK. I do miss going up Hellshoogte and round Paarl, Stellenbosch for a Sunday breakfast run. Also used to do a few laps at Killarney way back. |
