Hello to all on the forum. I recently sold my Ducati Multistrada and purchased a 2002 954 and I am very happy with that choice. Given my limited mechanical capabilities I certainly appreciate forums with solid members as this one certainly appears to be. Happy riding!

Welcome!

Recently parted with my '02 954 (long story). But I'll replace it in due time.

Welcome. I'm curious, how long did you have the Multi, how would you rate your experience with it, and why did you sell it?

Cheers.

Re: New Member

I had the MTS for exactly one year. I really enjoyed the bike though I decided to get the 954 for 3 main reasons1) Service is difficult in my area, 3.5 hour trip to Los Angeles(2) Suspect build quality, nothing major, they burn oil, paint quality, oil weeps on engine (3) I was tired of getting passed on the track in all the straight aways by 600's. The 2002 CBR's finish was in better shape than my 2004 MTS and I babied the thing. The CBR is much more precise though the MTS did get the job done and I would not hesitate in recommending it to someone if it was a good fit. The MTS handles very well for what you would think and it uses it's 84 hp extremely well. It is not as good a sport tourer (in my opinion) as one might expect due to the lack of wind protection. Many would argue this, especially some riders in Europe as those guys rack up some serious miles on their MTS's and love it. It does have available some nice hard bags for it. I would definitely return to the MTS in the future if I were to live in a more service available area and they increase the power slightly. Multistrada.net is an awesome MTS owners site if you would like to check it out.

BTW, I have heli bars and a corbin on my 954 and I was pleasantly suprised how well the 1200 mile trip from Dallas went on it. The stock seat on the MTS would have killed me with those miles.

Nice, informative write-up. Though I was sure that one of the reasons would be; "I got my eyes fixed.."
