Tire choices will depend on the type of riding that you do and your budget. Pirelli Diablo Corsas seem to be a favorite. Won't get high mileage out of it, but it's good for street and track use, and I've heard that it does well in the rain as well.

I was trying out using them forever until I threw the bike down the road. I must say sitting in the middle of the street watching the show wasn't all that much fun.

Really good tires are always the best performance upgrade for any vehicle whether its a car or bike.
