newbie looking for advise

Im looking to purchase a bike this coming spring. I live in Ottawa Ontario. Im looking for a sport bike but nothing that's too crazy...not yet anyway. My buddies have recommended a cbr. They tell me its the most comfortable bike for touring, its sporty but not too fast. Most importantly, I want a sport bike I can tour around in for hours at a time. I know sport bikes generally aren't that easy on the back, but any recommendations would be great.

Rob

Yup, I'd go with a VFR too - having just taken one for a spin a few weeks ago, I can tell you it can hussle when the need arises, very quick on the street, and still comfy for touring...
