| New to the World of CBR 954RR Hi everyone, just recently got me a used 2003 CBR 954, and found this forum online, so seems like alot of you are experienced riders. Just wanted to say hello and if you have any helpful tips for me regarding riding, care etc. of the bike. I'd appreciate it.
Thanks, |

| Re: New to the World of CBR 954RR I'm in North Cali, Central Valley area. the 954 is my second bike. I used to own a F4i a few years ago, but rode it without license, but this bike, I will be goin' to get my M1 license before I take it out for a ride. I did test ride it though, and I gotta say I was impressed, except when brakin' i noticed the steering shakes up, I don't know if its a problem with the bike or its just a 954 thing. I know i got to get a steering dampener for sure. Anyone know any good brands for these particular bikes? |

Don't like the sound of your steering shake under braking. Definitely not normal, there is something wrong there, warped rotors, loose head bearings, incorrect/uneven suspension settings, tire pressures, or tire needs replacing, etc. etc.
(Central Valley is Northern California?????????????? not when you live in Redding!!!!!!!!!!! ) |

| Re: New to the World of CBR 954RR Yeah the tires are good. I'm not sure about the brakes though, I'll have to get it checked.
Thanks for the suggestions on the dampeners. I will go with the scotts, because I want the ease of installation.
Central Valley IS norcal or Part of Bay Area I guess. |
