| New Member Just wanted to say hey to everyone. Just recently bought a 99 900rr and it changed my opinion about Honda bikes altogether. Im up in 29 Palms and make frequent visits to LA and San Diego. Im looking to see when and where other owners hold gatherings at, but not limited to fireblades only. |

| Re: New Member The last bike was a 98 ZX-7 and I started on yamahas. When I would look at comparisions between the new bike models it always seemed that Honda had no problem sacraficing power for a marginally small increase in longevity, and for a more comfortable ride. Untill recently comfort was never an issue but now that Im stationed in a place I have lovingly named the Devils Armpit longer rides means comfort plays a rolen ow. My friend owned this bike and recently bought a TL1000r and wanted to sell this. He encouraged me to ride it and see what I think and though I was very skeptical I rode it for about ten miles. After that we came back he went to work and left the key and from then on I cant stay off it. I recently had surgury on my elbow and two days after it I rode the bike to my first follow up. Every Appt after that I have been riding to utill about two weeks ago when I was on my way for follow up number three a car merged into my lane without looking and I wasnt even in his blind spot cause I could clearly see his face in the mirror. Anyways the merger happens in the middle of this decreasing turn and he decided he wanted to run on the outside of it as well. Both of us were doing about 65 and I know you really cant break much in a turn but I rolled off slightly and and barely gave it some brake and before I knew it I was on my back feet in the air and luckily the bike went over a curb and into some grass. Even though my bike and I were both in the air I still dont think her ever saw me. The bike is ok, I need some new plastics but other wise is ok. I even went to my appt after it. Sadly my backpack and the cookies I was bringing to thank the staff didnt do so well. I came out with a litte rash on my thigh and lower back, small scrap on my wrist, And a very small fracture on one of my ribs. That was my first street accident and I think all in all I came out of it better than most. Even my helmet came out unscathed. I love this bike and will have it for a long time, in fact I hope to in a couple of years upgrade to the RC 51. Any thoughts? |

| Re: New Member No but in two years Ill be in a possition to choose where I live. I had never really considered the comfort thing and didnt think it would make much of a difference because Im a tall and lean guy, but my mind was changed. The RC 51 might be a track bike consideration. I havent explored going to tracks yet but from what Ive heard and read it seems to be addicting. Its all in the air right now and I am completly content with my Fireblade. |

| Re: New Member to the funny farm.. I have spent too many days, weeks, months(not by my choice but my beloved corps) in that hell hole and feel for you. The devil's armpit is just one of the many loving names we have for 29 stumps...
Gotta look out for the idiots on the roads, especially in a place like cali.
