From several places

The Sidi boots ($159.00) and the Held gloves ($116.99) were both bought online at New Enough Leathers. Excellent service. Both items are fairly easy to size. For the gloves measure your hand and consult the Held chart on their website. For the boots, just use you normal shoe size, but go for a snug fit.

The FieldSheer jacket (sale price $162) and pants (sale price $126) I bought from a local accessory dealer, Road Rider. They are on Monterey Road, south San Jose, quite close to where I live. For these, you really have to try them on. I initially went for a Large jacket and Small pants. The assistant advised going for a medium jacket, she pointed out that it would help keep the armor in the correct place.

I also tried on the Shoei helmets at Road Rider, but actually bought the RF1000 from one of our sponsors here, Todd at Cal-Sportbike. My daughter measured my head circumference and I looked up the size on the Shoei size chart, large. But found in the store that large was bit loose and medium was more snug. Todd gave me a special price for a .org member of $308 for solid metallic (pearl grey) color, and a discount on a dark smoked shield ($30)

As others have said, you can take your time to get the right gear. But don't go out on any ride without adequate protection.

Good luck,
James

HI James - What really makes one helmet different from another? I currently have an HJC CL-15 helmet. It seems ok. One thing I do notice is wind noise.

Maybe. Cal-Sportbike is running a sale on Shoei right now.

Shoei Sale: X11, RF1000, TZR

They can't take returns on these sale items though, so you may want to try some on locally first.

Re: Too New...

Welcome..

I had a problem with the fan on my F4i and it turned out to be something stuck in the fan blade not letting the fan spin and poping the fuse. Might as well check out both things before you take it back out again.

Aslo let the bike idle in the drive way for a while you should hear the fan kick on and the temp should come back down and the fan will kick off
