| Re: newbie Welcome!
The first piece of information you're likely to get is a variation of the following:
1> Take the MSF course now.
2> Get the best available riding gear; leathers or armored fabric - not mesh- helmet, boots, gloves, back protector.
3> Stay away from idiots, learn at your own pace, don't emulate idiots, avoid doing anything abrupt on the bike, and don't listen to idiots.
Good luck. |

Good luck. | Good advice, even considering the source
Welcome to the site, lots of good information, and you already caught on to the the first thing you need to know ... the 954 (and any big bore bike) is a handful, especially for beginners. Be careful with the right wrist and all is good. |

| Re: newbie Wow. Welcome to the site and remember that liter bikes don't suffer idiots too well. You'll be fine if you remember to respect it...

Good luck. | An idiot will be recognizable by saying "Follow me" , "Hold my beer and watch this", or anyone that doesn't tell you "Ride your own ride" , the route you're taking, or doesn't at least take the time it took me to type this to say "How long have you been riding" "Is this your first bike" or get some background before taking you along.
Don't be afraid to say "hey, I'm a newer rider" - that's what takes balls. Any idiot can pin the throttle and go fast.

| Re: newbie And to what others have said. You didn't pick the best bike for a first bike, but what's done is done. Take the MSF and be careful. |
