rattling sound

What's up everyone...

I have a 2000 929, I've been hearing a rattling sound when I'm using the tranny to slow the bike down. It goes away as soon as I pull in the clutch, or get on the throttle enough to maintain or increase speed. Any ideas as to what it could be, or how I could narrow down the possibilities? I'm not a super mechanical whiz, but with a Haynes manual, I'm down to tinker with it a bit... Thanks y'all!

Re: rattling sound

I would have thought that recall would have been completed already.

I think it was the 2000 (929) bikes that had the clutch basket recall and they stamp the frame to identify that it was completed.

Maybe someone else can be more specific, or try searching this site for "recall".

Good luck, and welcome to the site.

Edit: I'm just throwing the clutch basket out there as a possibility (can't remember the exact symptoms related to the clutch basket recall).
