New Guy already have a question?

Hello everyone, I just bought my first 929 fireblade japanese spec's since I'm currently in Japan and I think I might have a little overheating problem. What do I look at first and second and so on to correct this situation.

Thanks
Tim

Welcome Tim....

Bummer about the overheating problem... Fwiw, you'll probably get more answers to your question if you post it seperately with a descriptive title...

Had a VFR friend stationed in Okinawa some years ago, he sent back quite a few pics of wild bikes that we don't see much here...keep us posted...

2000 929 overheating problem

I just bought a used 2000 929 and rode it today for the first time and it's overheating on me. What are some main causes of overheating and by the way I did ride it slow and I didn't get out of 3d gear their is a reason for this by the way.....

What temp did it get up to? Cruising around at in town speeds can easily get it up to 220. Did the fan come on?

Been to okinawa, you are a brave man for riding on those streets?

Well it got to 107 and I'm not sure if the fan came on or not will I be able to tell by the sound? It can really get to 220 sometimes and still be alright? I didn't realize that, I guess knowing is half the battle. I wish I had an owners manual but I guess you guy's will have to do for now. I really appreciate the helpfull tips and pointers.

Re: 2000 929 overheating problem

That is 220F, not 220C. However, 107C would be right around the same temp anyway, and right about where your fan should kick on.

You should be able to hear it quite easily unless there is a lot of ambient noise around you.
