Happy tp be a member

Hi everyone,
I am a new member, obviuosly.
I am also the proud owner of an '02 CBR 954 RR.
It is in excellent condition. I also have a 1984 700 Nighthawk S.

There is one thing about the CBR that bums me a little bit and that is that my hands and fingers go numb after about 20 mins of riding.
Does anyone know of some way to replace the clipons with some taller units?
I don't want anything that looks cheap and I do want to keep it sporty, I don't want to turn it into a cruiser or touring bike.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any help that may be given, and thanks for this site.

I've seen several members talk about "Heli Bars".

Also, make sure you aren't putting all your weight on the bars. Squeeze the tank with your legs and use your stomach muscles to support most of your weight. You should just have a loose grip on the bars.

Happy toilet paper

J/K

Helibars to raise the bars
Throttle meister for long rides to relax your throttle hand for short spells

But in twenty minutes my bet is one of two things. Either you are over gripping the bars or riding with locked elbows. Check next time you are riding (elbows is very likely)

Helibars, gel grips, oversize, heavier bar ends to damp vibrations. The Throttlemeister is a great idea, and they make a 'heavy' version.

And get checked by a good doctor for Carpal Tunnel. I suffered with that **** for years before I had anything done about it.
There are excercises you can find that might help.

Yes, they're worth the money.

I thought I saw some CT gloves, or something also. Maybe a member knows what the heck I'm talking about.

All the above are good solutions.

Thanks, I tried unlocking the elbows and that made a big difference.
I am looking into the heli bars, they look like they will do the job.
