| newb from alabama hello everyone,
I'm a new member w00t recently i purchased a CBR900rr 99 with 10k miles from a dealership in town. I love the bike i've had several older bikes. First street bike was a Honda CB750 ss? Which of course i killed myself on LOL no really i did i wreaked at 120 hit back brakes and they locked then whoose bike jumped sideways and into the car i went...broke leg in many places and took 1yr before i could walk again oh forgot to mention the flatline twice part. The bike didn't survive i cracked the engine among other things. Anyway once i could walk again i bought a KZ1100 i forget the year but i enjoyed it for 4 years and got rid of it due to weather (cold and rain). I've always wanted a sportbike and finally i have one the older bikes were around 1000lbs and this one i have is what 411 dry. Wow what a difference!! Anyway i'm rambling glad to be a member and i look forward to learning from the wise ones that know more than myself.
BTW anyone from alabama around here? I'm in mobile and usually on friday night everyone meets up at the Krytals on Airport blvd 9-10pm cst to talk shop etc...
Later,

| Re: newb from alabama Thanks for the warm greeting everyone... i'm a little concerned at the moment and this might not be the place to post but here it goes. I've put about 1k miles on this 900rr and when i first got the bike i noticed what i thought was chain lube on the fairing. Well i took some time today to go over the bike and i notice more of the same in a different spot but relatively around the same location on the lower fairing by the kickstand. Now i think it's coming from the tranny? Is this common? Either way i'm taking it back to the dealer in the am to see what they say about it.
BTW HondaGalToo how's that duc? i almost got a 900 SS instead of the CBR.
thanks and if i'm posting in the wrong spot just let me know i'm a newb so be gentle. |

| Re: newb from alabama ok put the dunce cap on my head...LOL when it looks like chain lube and feel like chain lube more than likely it is chain lube. What i was seeing on the lower fairing is chain lube (newbie lesson 101). |
