| G'day All Thought I'd quickly say hi to everyone. I live in Victoria in southeast Australia. I've been roaming this site for a few days now and reading up on all sorts of cool stuff. I ride a '97 900RR which I bought mid year and love it. I bought a CBR250RR when I got my learners and kept it for a few years until I decided to upgrade to something bigger. I had a fairly tight budget to work with and fell in love with my bike the first time I saw it. I test rode it and handed over the money when I got back to the shop. I'm not the most experienced or capable rider out there by far but I just love to get out and ride. I'm getting sick of riding by myself and are trying to suss out people to ride with.
My bought my bike fully stock and since have put on a set of Oggy Knobs, flush mount front indicators, small arrow rear indicators and a personalised plate (MY 919) in red with white typing. Last week I got a new chain and sprockets and went one tooth down on the front. I fell in love with my bike all over again! The faster acceleration is fantastic! I'm hoping to go and do some proper rider training/techniques so I can get into some good habits early.

| Re: G'day All G'day Wikki,
SE Vic (Highett) here. I have a modified '95 900RR 'Frankenbike' (lots of different year parts on it - you'll see what I mean when you see it). You, me and Giza should get together for a ride someday. I've also been chattiong with a gent named Nick. He has an RC51 I think. He wants to ride in the new year as well.
PM me for my contact details if you like.
Cheers,
Simon |

On a side note, I hate the color options we have here in the US.
. o 0 (I wonder how much it would cost me to go get a used blade in a cool color then ship it back to the states)

| Re: G'day All Yeah, i'd love to get a group ride happening.
Unfortunately for me, working the night shift on the weekends, pretty well makes it impossible for me right now.
I will be heading down to the island on the Labour day weekend, Mon 12th of March to be precise, where i can finally unleash the SP for some good times.
Here are a couple of pics from my last ride day at the island.
Hope you like them.
Cheers, Nick. |

| Re: G'day All Awesome.
Believe me, you'll get a real buzz out of it.
Are you riding to the island?
If you are, i'd suggest trailering the bike down, becuase by the end of the day, you'll be feeling it. |

| Re: G'day All I've heard by many that ride/track days are addictive. I hope that's not the case too much cos my wife will kick me out if I spend any more time out on the bike. |

| Re: G'day All Yes, they can become quite addictive.
I think it's because you have a certain freedom to ride at speeds that would normally be a little crazy on the roads.
But having said that, see how you go. |

| Re: G'day All I haven't actually done a ride school myself, although, friends of mine have, and they highly recommend doing them.
I will defintately do a couple of these courses this year, as i feel that if i want to ride around the island faster and more confidently than i currently do, this is definately the way to go.
If you log onto the Philip Island Ride Days website, there is a first timers setup. This is where they take you around and show some pointers on what to do and what not to do.
Here is the link. Phillip Island Ride Days - Home
Hope this helps.
Cheers, Nick. |
