| Down in Louisiana What's up? My name is Toby and I've been roaming around these boards for a while and decided to join. I'll give you the quick rundown of my story.
I love fast cars, and have 2 camaros. My daily driver (a '96) blew a head gasket at which time I brought my 2000 honda nighthawk 750 that I bought new back in 2000 out of a 2 year hybernation. I have been using the nighthawk for a daily driver which is about 50 miles round trip every day.
I forgot how much I loved to ride and purposely put off changing the blown head gasket in my camaro so I could get some more riding time on the bike.....Well, the car has been fixed for a week now and I still don't take it to work, eaven when it rains I take the bike. I'm hooked again.
I stopped by the dealer today, and I'm gonna be picking up my new '06 1000rr that is of the red and black species next friday and I am PSYCHED! they gave me a pretty good deal...so to hell with that 3500 pound camaro. I'm gettin' a new daily driver!
So, hello to all here and glad to be on board. |

| Re: Down in Louisiana Yeah, right! My other camaro (a 92 rs that just got a 500hp engine swap) is just a toy and is still not finished. I just talked the wife into letting me buy a new bike next week and I gotta get new gear too? Man, she's gonna kill me! |

| Re: Down in Louisiana She's about at her wit's end with my "toys." She may be more concerned about that new life insurance policy that I took out more than my well being...
Just kidding, I'll buy her a card and some flowers or something gay like that and then try asking again.
I did just pay off her brand new truck though. So she's really happy with me right now. I better strike while the iron is hot.
Thanks guys. |

| Re: Down in Louisiana Yes, but only as a spectator so far. But when my fire breathing camaro gets running (about 2 weeks) I'll be frequenting the test and tune nights.
Maybe when I get a little familiar with the 1000rr, I'll take an easy spin on the road course. But thats way later on.
Well I got people comeing over for the game so I gotta go cook that sauce piquante and jambalaya. Take care chere'. |

Ha Ha! You are exactly right. I bought a Joe rocket ballistic Jacket for around $170 and thought she would be pissed.
All she said was "You need to get the pants too." And that was after I told her what the pants would cost.
I never would have thought those words would come out of her mouth.
Good call dude. |

Good call dude. | Yep... gear is good for yer health
Now if I can just convince my wife that motorcycles are good for my overall physical and mental health, then I can own 4-5 with her consent!

I fear that BR is a little too far for a Thursday night cruise. If you ever take a weekend cruise, though, give me a holler... That is if you don't mind someone without razor sharp skills riding with you guys. I do have more brains than balls, though, so I seldom act retarded on my bike.
I rode the River Road from Grammercy to Baton Rouge and back last sunday though. That scenery never gets old, and the curves are killer. Maybe we'll meet sometime. |
