Tourist like you.

Just love being a tourist, especially on a bike.

I'm new to this site as well as the CBRXX site.

I've been on another site of late (BMW K1200s) and my check book just can't spread open wide enough to drop the cash for something that sits in the garage for 4 months out of the year here in central Wisconsin.

So...here I am Looking for a CBR1100XX which would be the next choice for the same kind of riding experience. I've allways admired Hondas and know they are reliable and have a good re-sale value. And currently own several other Honda products.

About the only concerns I have are that I really don't know very much about a Blackbird. Also I've been riding nothing but shafts since 81'. I realize the chain is a good thing for hooking up but I'm not much of a racer/speed freak......4 children in gradeschool and a wife I wouldn't ever give up for anything.

Currently I ride a very nice 83 Yamaha XJ900RK which really serves me well and always turns heads...once I had a Sherrif's Deputy ask me if it was a 2000 model. I had a good laugh for sure.

I'll be bumping around in these sites for a while gaining info on the Bird and trying to find a pristine 03 model......saw one this AM that only had 1000 miles on it, unfortunately the add was from 08/06 so I'm sure it's gone by now. And yes I did check with a Honda dealer to check their nationwide network for old/new stock.

Anyone who might know something of interest to me can surely PM me.

Thanks for all the POWER(knowledge) you all share on this site.

Re: Tourist like you.

A friend of mine has a CBR 1100XX that he bought used and he loves it. I also looked at the Beemer K1200 bikes, but decided that they were too heavy for the kind of riding that I do.

Remember, chains are a lot more efficient than shaft drives. The downside is that they require some maintenance.

Re: Tourist like you.

Not sure how far you are willing to travel, but check out High % in dallas Tx. The number is 9726192080, ask for Ronnie or Quincy, tell them Rokitt told you to call. They have a pristine CBR1100xx in stock.. Good luck.
