Looking for my first bike, have a chance at buying a 97 cbr 900 as my first bike.

Welcome aboard. I would definitely recommend something a little less powerful for your first bike. My first one was a 305 SuperHawk.

That's still a lot more bike than I would get for my first one. Would you want to learn to shoot by starting out on a .458 Winchester magnum (an elephant gun that kicks like a mule)?
