Hello

I an new to this site and look forward to great conversations like I have on the Shadow Riders forum. My name is Jim and I live in PA. I have a 1999 Shadow Spirit 1100 and a 1982 450 Nighthawk.

I do have a question for the forum. I need a new ignition switch (or at least part of it) for my 82 Nighthawk. Now when it is running, if you wiggle the key, the power will cut off.

Dealer (stealer?) wants $ 135 for the switch. Any suggestions on where else I might find it? Friend of mine had same problem and said he only needed a little white housing with the contacts in it that the keyset apparently fits into and it was $ 50.

Anyone have similar problems?

Thanks for any help.

Jim

Welcome
you can look on Bikebandit.com to at least find a part # for the OEM replacement, that should at least get you pointed in the right direction if you don't like their prices
